Session1Game starts out in Four Rivers, where John is on the run from the Yellow Turbans who were experimenting on him. He is staying at the inn, when a gang calling themselves the Myriad Names of Silence barge in, declaring that they seek information, and that the peasants will give it to them. A few patrons manage to escape, and run to the local law - Danny, Mike, and Phil. John hears the gang asking around for a person that matches John's description! (ruh roh). The PCs arrive, and Mike announces his name. The gang leader is a punk, and goes "who the hell are you?!" Mike is offended, and starts taunting the gang leader. Phil starts shit, and combat ensues. Goons are handily punted. Notable bits: Mike full-rounds his greatsword draw, just for taunt purposes. Phil blows out 3 mooks at once, stacking them up like firewood. Mike baseball bats the last 3 goons through several houses with his greatsword. Jen wanders down to check out the commotion. John cheerleads and generally wimps out. The leader of the goons runs off, and Danny catches him. The goon mentions that he gets his orders from a local fortuneteller. Jen decides that Phil is worth hiring. Mike goes and helps patch up the damage he did. Phil goes and investigates for a bit, noticing his rival discussing something with a member of the Myriad Names of Silence. Being suspicious, he rounds up the heroes, and they go to strongarm the fortuneteller. They don't get much out of the fortuneteller, but at that point, Phil throws down a challenge to his rival. 2 days from now, at night. Mike thinks it's a fight, with rather hilarious results. At the appointed time, Phil does his sneaky ninja routine, while everyone else is checking out the action from the walls. Phil's rival shows up, and they get into a verbal shoving match over the rival's void-tainted state. Both of them are sneaky ninja bastards, btw. At this point, phil's rival is public knowledge, as is the existence of his manual of yin ice blade. Danny does a wtf, and also, everyone get some wtf as they notice that John's chi flows are all fucked up. At this point, Phil has a contingency to kill John if anything weird starts happening. Danny has a contingency to kill John if anything weird starts happening. Jen gets a letter from Mao-shan, telling her to kill john of anything weird starts happening. They decide to leave town for a bit, and check out Jen's case of dead mother. They go to White river, jen's hometown. Jen's dad instantly latches onto Mike and Danny as potential suitors for Jen. Phil offends jens' dad, and john cleans s'more. Phil sneaks out at night to investigate Jen's mom's "ghost". He notices that the whole area is infected with Existence-Hating Radience. He raids the city records to get information on why Jen's mother might have been killed, breaking several official seals to do so. The scene ends with Phil uncovering that several people were convicted of corrupt practices/witchcraft/quackery, and sentenced to death, but that there were no records of their execution.
